Cowtown Treasure Hunters Club
Cowtown Treasure Hunters Club is an active metal detecting and treasure-hunting organization based in Fort Worth, Texas. The club serves beginners, experienced detectorists, coin hunters, relic hunters, jewelry hunters, artifact collectors, and outdoor enthusiasts throughout Fort Worth and the greater North Texas region.
Members share an interest in using metal detectors to locate old and modern coins, lost jewelry, historic relics, tokens, military items, and other buried or misplaced metal objects. The club provides a welcoming environment where detectorists can exchange knowledge, share discoveries, compare equipment, and learn more about responsible metal detecting.
Regular club meetings may include educational presentations, displays of recently recovered finds, metal detector discussions, guest speakers, raffles, club announcements, and planning for upcoming hunts and activities.
Members can participate in the club’s Find of the Month program, which gives detectorists an opportunity to display and discuss coins, jewelry, relics, and other discoveries. These activities can help members learn more about artifact identification, local history, preservation, and the different techniques used to recover noteworthy finds.
Cowtown Treasure Hunters Club also organizes metal detecting hunts and other member activities. Organized hunts provide opportunities to practice search techniques, meet other detectorists, compare equipment, and participate in friendly competitions involving planted coins, tokens, jewelry, and prizes.
New detectorists are welcome and can benefit from the experience of established members. Topics may include choosing a metal detector, understanding target signals, adjusting detector settings, selecting search coils, using a pinpointer, recovering targets carefully, researching older properties, and identifying recovered objects.
The club encourages responsible metal detecting practices. Members and visitors should obtain permission before searching private property, verify that detecting is allowed on public land, carefully refill recovery holes, remove trash, and respect historic and archaeological resources.
Cowtown Treasure Hunters Club is a member of the Texas Association of Metal Detecting Clubs, which connects detecting organizations throughout the state and supports regional events and activities.
The club is a valuable resource for detectorists in Fort Worth, Arlington, North Richland Hills, Keller, Grapevine, Weatherford, Mansfield, Burleson, Azle, and other communities throughout Tarrant County and North Texas.
Anyone interested in joining Cowtown Treasure Hunters Club, attending a meeting, participating in an organized hunt, or learning how to use a metal detector should contact the organization through its official website.
