DESCRIPTION:Join fellow detectorists for a three-day natural metal detectin
 g event at the historic Springfield Fairgrounds in Springfield\, Maine\, fr
 om September 25–27\, 2026.\nThis unique hunt provides access to approxima
 tely 60 acres of historically significant land\, including former 1800s bus
 iness sites\, stagecoach routes\, walking trails\, old dumps\, cellar holes
 \, the town’s former poor farm\, a Masonic lodge area\, town office groun
 ds\, a ballpark\, and the historic fairgrounds.\nThe Springfield Fairground
 s have served as a community gathering place for approximately 200 years. T
 he property has hosted nearly 180 agricultural fairs\, operated as a trotti
 ng track\, and was used as a dirt automobile racing track during the 1940s 
 and 1950s. A local museum is also located beneath the grandstand.\nEvent Da
 tes\nSeptember 25\, 26 and 27\, [YEAR]\nAdmission\nThe fee for the full thr
 ee-day event is $200 per person.\nChildren ages 12 and younger may attend f
 ree of charge.\nEach paid admission ticket also includes one entry into thr
 ee prize drawings:\n\n10-ounce silver bar\n5.5-ounce custom silver bar\nMet
 al detector\n\nNatural Metal Detecting Areas\nParticipants will have the op
 portunity to search a variety of historic locations\, including:\n\nApproxi
 mately 60 acres of historic land\nSites of former 1800s businesses\nOld sta
 gecoach trails\nHistoric walking trails\nFour former dump sites\nTwo cellar
  holes\nThe former Springfield town poor farm\nHistoric fairgrounds and gat
 hering areas\nFormer trotting track\nFormer dirt automobile racing track\nM
 asonic lodge\, town office and ballpark areas\n\nAll detecting must follow 
 event rules and any designated property restrictions.\nBonus Seeded Pinpoin
 ter Hunt\nThe event will include a special pinpointer-only bonus seeded hun
 t featuring a wide variety of buried prizes.\nSeeded prizes are expected to
  include:\n\nAmerican silver coins\nCanadian silver coins\nSilver necklaces
 \nSilver rings\nSilver bracelets\nMetal detecting gear\nAccessories\nAdditi
 onal surprise prizes\n\nOrganizers currently have approximately 53 troy oun
 ces of silver prepared for the hunt and are working toward a goal of approx
 imately 1\,000 total seeded prizes.\nParticipants should bring a working pi
 npointer for this portion of the event.\nRaffles and Additional Activities\
 nAdditional activities will include metal detecting raffles\, a 50/50 drawi
 ng and other prize opportunities. One of the featured raffle prizes will be
  a Stihl chainsaw.\nA portion of the event proceeds will be donated to orga
 nizations supporting wounded veterans and children\, including Wounded Warr
 ior Project and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Funds will also be
  used to help children obtain metal detectors and to support sponsored meta
 l detecting clubs with prizes and giveaways.\nLive Music and Birthday Celeb
 ration\nOn September 26\, the band Y Wouldn’t U will perform at 6:00 p.m.
 \nThe evening will also include a birthday celebration with cake.\nCamping 
 Information\nOn-site camping options include:\n\nTent camping\nCar camping\
 nSelf-contained camping\n\nThere are no full camping facilities or utility 
 hookups available. An outhouse will be provided.\nParticipants should arriv
 e prepared with their own water\, food\, camping equipment\, power supplies
  and other necessities.\nImportant Information\nThis is a natural metal det
 ecting event with a separate bonus seeded hunt. Historic finds are not guar
 anteed\, and all participants are expected to detect responsibly\, fill the
 ir holes\, remove trash and follow organizer instructions.\nAdvance registr
